Double Shelix is a podcast all about women in STEM, the research grind, and inclusive science. We want to help you find role models, be inspired, create inclusive STEM communities, develop professional skills, and share your love of science.
Our Team
Double Shelix is a labor of love of our hosts, Kayla and Sally!
Host and Founder
Sally recently graduated with her PhD in Bioengineering at UC Berkeley, and received her bachelor's in Bioengineering from Stanford University . She is passionate about bioinspired materials, women's health, and having difficult conversations about the struggles that scientists face throughout their career journeys. Sally is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, Boyd Fellow, and Siebel Fellow.

Host and Founder
Kayla is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University. She recently graduated with her PhD in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley, and received her bachelor's in Chemistry and Human Biology from Michigan State University. She is passionate about biomaterials, mentorship, and training scientists in the professional skills they need to succeed in STEM careers. Kayla is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Predoctoral Fellow (F31), and Siebel Fellow.
